Farmhouse Turned Modern Home Tour

*all images via House Beautiful

This gorgeous old farmhouse received a little love was transformed into a modern Hollywood Hills home. With some help from mirrors, a black, white and neutral color palette, bold wallpaper, textured touches and lots of glass, this home is show stopper.  Something that stood out to me were those awesome mirrors in the foyer and living room. If you're a renter and you can't paint, but you are allowed to hang things on the wall, this is a great solution for your walls! Hang a collage of mirrors over your sofa. It will add interest, light, and something special to a space that can't have color. This is definitely one of the most unique home tours I've posted here on my blog. I think my favorite part is how perfectly the black and white color scheme fits with a few of the rustic touches. Also, that chandelier in the kitchen-- completely over the top, but oh-so-beautiful!

What's your favorite part of the home?

Next week I will be starting a little series called What I Learned in College. Instead of asking other bloggers to guest post while I'm in Seattle graduating, I wrote a few posts with a few things I learned over the last 4 years. I hope you love it! I will also be answering your questions to me, so be sure to leave your question if you have one! There are some awesome questions there, so I can't wait to dig in!

Happy weekend!

{Fashion} Mint & a Tangerine Tote

Details | Eyelet Top: Anthropologie; Mint Denim: Meadow Boutique; Sandals: Fibi & Clo, Tote: Lydali

Can I bet honest with you? I really needed a new tote bag. I've had the same bag for a while, and it is more than worn in. I use it for school, for everyday and even for going out sometimes. There should be rules against that. Goodness! I was so thrilled to come across the sweetest shop, Lydali, and even more excited to find the PERFECT tote! I've now switched over to this cute tangerine bag for school and I'm loving it. It's perfectly sized-- and gals, let me tell you-- I carry SO many uneccessary things in my bag.

One of my favorite color combos for Summer is mint, lavender, hot pink & tangerine.  This bag is the perfect compliment to any outfit because it adds that punch of color I crave.  Lydali is a collection of products inspired by the beauty found in remote areas of the globe.  It's a concept for a shop I've never seen before and fell in love with only seconds after finding their site.

It's your lucky day, because you can receive 15% off your purchase with code MND15 at checkout over at Lydali!

Let me know if you snag something!
Happy Thursday!

Color Story: Hot Pink & Tangerine

From left to right: nightstand (unsure of source...help?!) / firework pillows / cake / pink and yellow striped shirt / flower centerpiecetangerine pillow / abstract painting

It's no secret I'm a girly girl through and through, so clearly I love me some hot pink. Even though my first love is lavender, hot pink is a color my eye naturally gravitates toward. It's energizing and can be quite sophisticated if done tastefully. Lately, I've been loving a good ole' hot pink paired with a vibrant orange, tangerine or peach. Ohhh. Yes, please!  This color story can easily be used in the home, tablescapes, wedding design, stationary, textiles, fashion, and beauty. If I had it my way, hot pink would be the new red for Memorial Day :)

Are you feeling this combo? What is your favorite palette as of lately?

I can't wrap this post up without expressing my extreme gratitude and thanks to those who served our country and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We are blessed because of your servant's hearts. Enjoy your day off and eat up at your family BBQ's!
Happy Memorial Day!

It's Friday! It's a long weekend! Yippee :)

Because I'm about to graduate, start new adventures, move back home, have some new readers, and love sharing life with all of you, I've decided to open it up today to any and all questions you may have for me.  You can ask me about my personal life, family, my future plans (the million dollar question for a soon-to-be-college-graduate, I presume!), my college experience, living in Seattle or Los Angeles, any questions you have about design, blogging, or my cute pup. Ask away! I'm an open book and will be answering all your questions in a few weeks. If you want to email me instead, you can do so at michaelawarner90 {at} gmail.com

Hope you have a lovely weekend. I'm at home with my fam, but am busy working on a ton of homework. What a way to spend Memorial day weekend! What are your plans?!

See you back here on Monday!

{Help Me Choose!} Graduation Shoes

A few weeks ago I picked out my graduation dress! It was really exciting, and I imagine this is the last important dress I'll choose until I get married someday. Want to see it?! Here she is:

The question is, though, what shoes?! I'm thinking wedges, just to be sure I don't trip down the stage or something horrible like that. Here are the ones I'm loving:

one / two / three

Which one do you like best?! Help me choose!

Have a lovely day!

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

This week I'm playing along in my own series to share what I'm loving and what I'm not. It's going to be short and sweet!
1. Did you see Fabulous K's desk area? It's gold and white goodness with a touch of pink. Gold and white is one of my favorite looks, so I was head over heels.  See that lamp? It's a our Lulu & Georgia Audrey Lamp. Such a stunner!

2. Pretty Tablescapes. As a designer and color, pattern, and all-things-dishes-and-party lover, this coral and green table really stood out to me. It's soft and whimsical and totally adoring that lace runner.

3. Beautiful quotes. This one by The Painted Arrow is so sweet. I want everything from her shop!

4. I'm heading home to the Bay Area today for a long weekend. Hooray! I get to see this sweet girl!

5. One of my best friends, Nicole, is sharing some pictures of her home on her blog, Bloom, today. It's been so fun to help her put some of the things together over the past few months. You're going to want to check it out-- this girl will inspire and encourage you so much! And yep, you'll get to see more of this cute pup over there.

1. Graduation is SO so so soon. This is something I'm so excited about. The whole being graduated and everyone asking me what is next, is the part I'm nervous about. God's got it under control, though, and I can't wait to see His plan unfold!

2. Running. I've been slowly trying to run more each week, and I have to say I still loathe it. BUT I'm doing it. And that's what counts. Right?! Right :)

What are YOU loving and not loving this week?! Do tell.

{Fashion} Lavender Shorts, Stripes & Lace

*photos by michaela noelle designs
Details | Shirt: Nordstrom; Shorts: J.Crew; Wedges: Tilly's (similar) , Bracelets: Tiffany's & gift.

And this, my friends, is why I heart California. Last week was so warm and sunny, so when I saw the sun setting, I grabbed my friend and the camera and went smack dab in the middle of the street to take some photos before we lost the light. Perfect timing is an understatement.

I have these same shorts in berry and recently added the lavender ones to my closet {hey, I can't help it that my mom bought me them as a sweet gift while I was on my spending freeze!} If you know me in real life, you know I hate wearing shorts. I was never allowed to wear them to school growing up, because we had a dress code at the private school I went to. Then I went to college in Seattle for three years where, let's be honest, you can't really wear shorts! Now, anytime I wear them I feel like I'm breaking the rules. These Chino shorts are great because they're not too short. {Sorry, but my pet peeve in fashion is girls wearing tight, short-shorts that they have no business wearing!} These are every bit as comfy as they are cute, which makes them my favorite shorts eva. Yep, eva.  This shirt is another favorite as it combines two of my favorite things: lace and stripes. Throw on some sandals and it's the perfect beach day outfit, but with wedges you could even go out on the town for a casual summer evening.

Is it warming up where YOU live yet?! Also, in case I haven't stated it yet, you should probably get these shorts. You won't be disappointed :)

Happy Tuesday!
